Works are completed!
This latest photo update ends the great adventure of the construction. Works started in April 2011, after 10 years of studies and planning, and has involved hundreds of people, from every Nation, everyone with a big dream to fulfill. It seems finally we did it.. stay tuned in the coming days on this page, we will tell you the opening date to the public!
Completed the tests on the first section!
The tests on the first section was completed with good results. We will proceed with the tests on the second section. Updated images in the construction gallery.
Vehicles of 2nd section are on the line
Yesterday for the first time a new vehicle reached the new Punta Helbronner Station! Works to complete the interiors of the stations are continuing. Look at Photo Gallery
2nd section
Works of 2014 are slowly going to the end. The roofs of the stations are quite completed; new vehicle of 2nd section are transported to Pavillon with the material ropeway, and wire ropes of 2nd section are also in construction yard. In next weeks, before winter, ropes will be mounted. Photo updates available in Photo Album page.
Tower 1 foundations
Foundations of tower 1 of the 2nd section are completed. In these days metal structures will be mounted.
Helbronner Peak – Station saddles
Rope suspension saddles in top station was mounted. The support structure is made completely of metal carpentry and integrated into the particular forms of the station. At the center of the line it was also installed “the tree of the signals” on which will be placed the antennas of the main emergency services.
A new crane
The crane to mount the 2nd tower was installed.
Tower 1 foundations
Works continue with the excavation and construction of the foundations of the tower 1. A soon the crane will be mounted to mount the steel structure.
The 2nd tower of 2nd section completed
Structures, saddles, vehicle runners, liners and two big orange balloons. The second tower, near Torino refuge, is completed.
Transfer of the ropes to Pavillon
Workers are transferring the 4 track ropes, which will be mounted on the 2nd section during next autumn. As it is impossible to reach Pavillon station with trucks, every rope is singly pulled from Pontal to Pavillon, where it is winded.
